Swachh Bharat Abhiyan – A bold Initiative

One of the bold initiatives taken by the government of India, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan aims at a clean and hygienic country. This mission aims at keeping our country clean hygienic and the government seems enthusiastic about it. This particular mission was launched with the aim of involving people from all occupations. The current state of hygiene and cleanliness of our own country is solely our responsibility and our right to act.

In order to achieve this great initiative, let us look at the following parameters:

Achieving a common goal should be the criteria

Let us not waste time in taking the pledge that time has come for us to stand up and help our country. To achieve the mutual goals staring at us. We all have been waiting for this opportunity for the longest time and now it is here. Let us distribute the most common and attainable goals amongst the stakeholders instead of going all alone. It would be prudent to Keep a check and involve other people in the society as well.

Create awareness among people for better tomorrow

The most important thing is to spread awareness about cleanliness and educate house cleaners and workers in and around your dwelling place. A visit to small villages closer to the city or town is necessary in order to explain to them how important it is to use a toilet for them and for the rest of us. If possible it would be prudent to remind them that they are polluting the environment and you are getting affected too.

Local authorities can play vital role

Communicate with the local civic authorities and offer them your help and support. Gather an army of volunteers, put them into service in order to cover a bigger area in spreading the awareness, and spearhead the campaign. Visiting homes and conducting survey can help in spreading the word or two about hygiene and cleanliness and creates awareness among the masses.

Industrial pollution can kept under control

Reach out to higher authorities who can go and check the factories that according to you pollute the environment. In order to check pollution, banning or imposing severe restrictions on a particular industrial unit can help in solving the problem and keep pollution at bay.

Prevent people from polluting the environment

If someone is seen deliberately littering or polluting the environment, it is better to educate him or her in the appropriate manner, and explain to him or her, the hazards of polluting the environment. Express you anxiety and tell them the hazardous consequences of polluting the environment, which comes with major health risks and other problems to the society.

The above steps can go a long way in maintaining a check on people and their activities and prevent them from polluting the surroundings and the environment to a significant extent.
