Hardik Himanshu Pandya was born on 11 October 1993. He is a young and vibrant Indian cricketer who plays for Baroda cricket team. He is a great finisher and is an all-rounder who bats right-handed and bowls right-arm medium-fast.

Pandya has been in the playing eleven of Baroda cricket team since 2013. He played a vital role in Baroda’s win in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in the 2013–14 seasons.

Due to his contributions to the Baroda team, Hardik was spotted by the former coach of Indian Team and then Mumbai Indians head Coach John Wright .Impressed by his batting and bowling skills they selected him for the Mumbai Indians team during the IPL auction held that year.

He played his first Twenty20 International match for India on 27 January 2016 at the age of 22, picking up 2 wickets against Australia. He played his first One Day International (ODI) match for India against New Zealand on 16 October 2016 at Dharamshala and took 3 wickets.

This enabled India to win the match by 6 wickets and he became the fourth Indian to win the Man of the Match award on ODI debut after Sandeep PatilMohit Sharma and K. L. Rahul.

He received his ODI cap from Kapil Dev, who himself made his test debut on 16 October 1978. He, in his first ODI batting innings scored 36 runs from 32 balls with three boundaries to his credit. In November 2016, he was picked up for India’s Test squad for their series against England.

Hardik has created a name for himself and he has established his place in the Mumbai Indians team as well as the national team by performing consistently. He along with other Gujarat players like Ravindra Jadeja, his sibling Krunal, Pathan Brothers, parthiv patel and Jasprit Bumrah have put Gujarat on the cricketing map of world class cricketers.

Hardik as a person is very sober and friendly and he along with his brother and parents are based in Baroda.
