Umesh Yadav is an Indian cricketer who plays for Vidarbha cricket team and Indian national team. A right-arm fast bowler, he made his One Day International debut against Zimbabwe in May 2010, And his Test debut against the West Indies the following year.

In 2008, Yadav made his first-class debut for Vidarbha against Madhya Pradesh in the 2008–09 Ranji Trophy season.

In the Indian Premier League, he represents Kolkata Knight Riders, a franchise owned by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. He was picked up by Delhi Daredevils  during the IPL Auction in 2008 for $30,000. He made his debut in the Indian Premier League in 2010. This catapulted him to fame and he became the most sought after bowler for his IPL team as well as for the national selectors.

Yadav made his international debut in the World Twenty20 tournament held in 2010. Performance wise he could not stand up to the expectations of the selectors and as a result, he kept going on and off the national team partly due to his performance and injuries, he sustained at regular intervals.

Umesh Yadav is the fastest Indian bowler with his speed exceeding 150 kmph. Columnist Siddharth Monga opined that Yadav is fit, energetic and quick, and is able to swing the ball a bit late. His bowling style is unique and he attacks the stumps with his swingers.

Yadav has many firsts to his credit and he has impressed all by his bowling skills, which is full of variety. Yadav has the potential to become the best fast bowler among the cricket playing nations and he will surely rule the cricketing field in the years to come.

Finally, on 16 April 2013, Umesh was engaged to Delhi-based fashion designer Tanya Wadhwa, and they got married on 29 May 2013.
