What after the 10th grade
School life is full of emotions and sentiments. When we are in school, we have to shoulder the burden of long hours of study during classes, at home, and vice versa. Apart from studies, a student has to bear the weight of extra baggage and this does not augur well for them. Globally schools have a mix of curriculum designed for their students and sometimes it becomes hectic to study and excel in it.
The School curriculum across the globe has seen revision several times to enable students to cope with the pressure that comes with it. Along with quantity, the qualitative aspect of the courses has gone several notches higher. This means that a student has to shell out extra hours of effort to excel in each of the topics covered.
As soon as a student reaches 10th grade he or she is dumbfounded and has no idea how to cope with the pressure of board exams. 10th grade is crucial to a student’s life initially and it decides which stream he or she is willing to opt for.
Students have a variety of choices before them and they can choose a stream that suits their capacity and capability. Despite various options on offer, students often make the wrong choices and repent later.
A 10th-grade student should be adept enough to choose the right stream provided he or she has a good record of accomplishment. In other words, they should choose a stream that corresponds to their higher grades. Mediocre and average students opting for science stream would damage their credibility and scoring capacity.
Students good in Accountancy and Statistics should go for Commerce stream since it would lay a solid foundation for them to excel in professional courses such as Chartered Accountancy or ACCA.
Students going for humanities as their field of study can excel in arts and languages. They have huge potential across various disciplines promoting arts and philosophy. Therefore, a 10th-grade student has ample choices to choose from and he or she should be capable enough to make the right move with proper guidance and advice from their teachers and parents.
Making the right decision and going for the appropriate stream would guide you through your goals. Excelling in the field of study you choose should be the aim right from the beginning and a student should consult senior students, teachers, and parents before making the right move.
Eventually, a 10th-grade student has the moral responsibility to take honest decisions regarding his choice of study. Any let-up would prove disastrous and would be detrimental to his or her’s career at a later stage. A careful and wise decision is paramount to check a student’s ability to cope with the pressure that sets in during study.
My advice would be to sit and talk to senior students, teachers, and parents and decide the stream that suits you the most and its effects on your career once you leave school. Making the wrong choices would make you repent later. Therefore, a wise decision made is the right decision made and it would decide your future course of action to a significant extent.
