Climate Change leads to devastating and disastrous consequences
Climate change has been in existence for a decade or two. It is one of the most debated topics by climate experts and environmental specialists. The change in climate as we know has been significant since the last decade.
The rise in water level due to the melting of ice sheets and glaciers has caused severe environmental catastrophes around the world. Another factor contributing to climate change is pollution from vehicles and factories that release toxic gas into the atmosphere which in turn leads to severe heat and humidity all over the place.
Climate change has many severe effects on our lives and the environment to name a few. Let us look at some of the possible effects climate change may have on us
Climate change leads to a rise in temperatures
Climate change leads to change in the landscape of a country
It can lead to a rise in water level across seas and oceans around the world
It leads to the melting of icebergs and glaciers
It causes floods and environmental disasters
Climate change occurs if pollution levels go beyond the usual limit
Climate change causes droughts on one hand and on the other; it causes rain with adequate frequency.
Unseasonal rains with heavy flooding lead to crop failure which is the direct result of climate change
Climate change leads to land degradation
It causes loss of wildlife and biodiversity
Overall climate change could have massive effects on us and our environment which would prove disastrous in a few years. Governments around the world have chalked out a strategy to reduce carbon emissions drastically and the countries around the world have reached a consensus to follow an action plan that would reduce carbon footprint and green gas emissions significantly.
The effects of climate change are being felt all over the world and the result is astonishing. Frequent floods and drought along with the government’s apathy towards a comprehensive action plan have dented the chances of tackling climate change with full force.
Nevertheless, countries around the world are hopeful that climate change could be tackled effectively, and shorelines of vulnerable countries can be kept intact with timely intervention. But to achieve this, swift action and total cooperation from participating countries is the need of the hour.
Countries like India, which are one of the largest polluters have the responsibility to draw a strategic plan to tackle the menace with due diligence. Climate change can be tackled by moving to clean and green energy that acts as an alternative to traditional methods.
Manufacturing units and vehicles polluting the environment have to be stopped from operating and replaced with clean and green energy methods. Last but not least, we are in the final stages of efforts to tackle climate change and its effects will stay with us for years to come.
