Mahendra Singh Dhoni, popularly referred to as MS Dhoni was born in1981. He represents the Indian cricket team and was made the captain of the Indian team in one-day format from 2007 to 2016 and in Test cricket from 2008 to 2014.

He is primarily a right-handed middle-order batsman and wicket keeper. He has earned the moniker of great finisher for his style of finishing things when it mattered most in limited-overs cricket. He is regarded to be among the quickest and fastest wicket keepers in the world and is understood to waste no time in dismissals.

He played his first one-day International in December 2004 against Bangladesh, and he played his first Test a year later against Sri Lanka.Dhoni has been the most successful captain of the Indian cricket team ever. Under his captaincy, the Indian team has won major tournaments and reached the top rankings among the test playing nations.

Dhoni had a successful one-day career among all wicketkeepers of India until date. He is the most prolific wicket keeper cum batsman after Rahul Dravid. Dhoni’s Test career was not as successful as his one-day career but he managed to win series against Srilanka, West Indies, New Zealand and Australia, the most prominent among them was the 4-0 white wash of Australia.

Dhoni’s career has been a roller coaster ride since he started playing for India. He started enjoying his stint as captain once he took over the reins of the Indian team from Rahul Dravid. He has proved that he is an excellent leader and would remain calm in struggling conditions.

Dhoni married his childhood friend Sakshi Singh Rawat, who happens to be his schoolmate and they have a daughter named Ziva.
