Suresh Raina born in 1986 is an Indian professional cricketer. He is an aggressive left-handed middle-order batsman and an occasional off-spin bowler; He represents Uttar Pradesh in the domestic cricket. He captained Gujarat Lions IPL Team in the Indian Premier League for the last two years.

Raina first played his ODI debut match against Sri Lanka at the age of 19. But he had to wait till 2010 to make his debut in test cricket against the same opponents. He scored a hundred on his Test debut. He was lucky enough to be part of the Indian squad that won the 2011 World Cup.

He played several matches during his under 19 days and even captained the team. Seeing his performance his selectors picked him up in the senior’s team and thereafter there was no looking back after that.

He became a regular feature in the national team where he scored runs at will. But his form was inconsistent and he was dropped on several occasions during India’s home and away series.

His contributions were good enough for the selectors to ignore him so he became a permanent member of the team batting at number three and bowling part-time occasionally.

His IPL contribution for Chennai Super Kings is also equally impressive. He has saved CSK several times and brought it to winning position from the jaws of defeat. His performance won him man of the match and man of the tournament awards.

His chemistry with MS Dhoni and other players of CSK is impeccable and outstanding. This bears testimony to the fact that CSK is best team ever to play in the IPL due to the presence of Raina, Dhoni, Ashwin and others.

Finally Raina got married to Priyanka Choudhary in 2015 and they have a daughter named Gracia.
