Recruitment agents and their mysterious ways of cheating and beguiling job seekers

Recruiting a person for a particular post is quite common for recruitment agents acting on behalf of recruitment agencies. These agencies hire agents for a fee to recruit job seekers on their behalf.

Not all know that these agents are dubious and have malicious intent. They connive with the recruitment agencies, to cheat, and defraud job seekers with fake promises. These agents are on the prowl all over the country and the victims are the innocent job seekers who fall in their trap with no fault of theirs.

Recruitment agents get access to cell numbers of job seekers from job centers and that is where the actual conspiracy begins. A rogue agent dials the job seeker’s number and makes sweet offers of instant job in a reputed company for a fee.

The job seeker having no alternative falls into the trap and ends up paying the fee, which would fetch him, nothing. The agent after getting the fees transferred to the account switches of his phone with no trace of him anywhere.

The rogue agents who are always on the look for desperate job seekers often play out such truancy. Scores of job seekers are victimized every year for the lure of job.

To swindle money and defraud job seekers with fake and false promises, umpteen calls are made with malicious intent. Job seekers are at their mercy and have absolutely no inkling about the rogue agents and their modus operandi.

These agents intend to cheat and siphon off money in connivance with their handlers. They and their bosses conspire to befriend and defraud innocent job seekers to benefit the most from them.

My personal experience has not been so rosy and even I have been the victim of fraud by rogue agents when I was a job seeker.

Therefore, the question is how to tackle the menace of fake job offers from agents who are on the prowl 24/7

The reasons are plenty but few of them are given below:

The first and foremost reason is to avoid registering your credentials with a recruitment agency that has a dubious distinction of cheating and beguiling job seekers

Secondly, make sure the recruitment agency and the government recognizes their agents and they have the necessary certificate or permission to operate as agents

Thirdly do not reveal excess information to the agent who seduces you with a lucrative job offer. Note down the cell number of the agent and refer it to cybercrime if it is a fake and unwanted number

The fourth point is to have a background check done on the recruitment agency and their agents to confirm their authenticity

Another important point to take into account is the number of fees they charge for their service. Make sure no agent charges you higher than what is stipulated by their bosses. Check whether the agent does not overcharge you for their gain.

Never send your CV and Covering letter without actually confirming the job role and position

Make sure that the employer to whom the agent forwards the CV is aware that an agent has referred you

Tally the salary mentioned by the agent with that offered at the time of the interview.

Never fall prey to dubious agents without proper research and homework

The above points are genuine and worth emulating. Spend a considerable amount of time doing research and browsing the internet to know about the recruitment agency and their agents.

Do not be naïve and do not allow others to overcome your self-esteem. Act smart and be extra courageous to face any eventuality that comes your way.
