Fake News – Official Forbiddance is mandatory to curb the menace
News is something that we have been listening to for centuries. In ancient times, a messenger or an ambassador used to carry the news to far off places, later pigeons were used extensively to convey and deliver messages.
Therefore, the news is nothing new to us. It has been in existence for thousands of years. However, in today’s modern world besieged with technological advances, delivering news has become quite straightforward and effortless.
Today there are umpteen media platforms to convey the news to the remotest corner of the world. Nevertheless, there is a darker side to it. Along with real news, unsolicited and fake news has become rampant all over the world.
Various media houses indulge in proliferating fake news to the masses to create unrest and mayhem in society. However, the actual culprits are the influential people who act behind the scenes and use the media houses as a front to spread the news that is fraudulent and fabricated.
Therefore, what is the solution to this problem that has become a menace like never before? There is a solution indeed and that is to ban completely the spread of fake news from various media outlets.
The government has the necessary mandate and power to put the brakes on the spread of fake and dubious news that causes harm and affects the lives of innocent people.
A necessary resolution needs to be introduced and a law has to be passed favoring the banning and banishing of fake and bogus news with immediate effect. All the media platforms should be reprimanded and restricted to telecast news that is adverse and against the rule of law.
Necessary rules and regulations have to be enforced for all the media houses and anyone flouting the rules should be penalized and banned from providing news coverage.
There should be a mechanism to handle fake news and the no media channels should be encouraged to circulate fake news with utter surety. Any attempt by the media houses to telecast fake news should be strictly prohibited and stopped for good.
Fake news primarily results in harming today’s younger generation and it forces them to embrace vandalism and Rowdyism. Several countries have necessary regulations in place to curtail and ban fake news where autocratic regimes indulge in spreading falsehood and hatred among people.
It is neither too late nor the situation has gone out of control. A tight and stringent law is required to punish those who engage and indulge in spreading and proliferating fake and false news for their gains.
To sign off I would reckon that fake news is manmade and it will remain with us for time to come. Despite several attempts by law enforcement agencies to prevent the spread of fake news, there has been no end to its far-reaching implications.
Let us all take a pledge that we will never allow ourselves to overcome by the surge of fake news that has poisoned our society largely. Let us say enough is enough and move forward with a positive frame of mind.
