Matrimonial sites – An exceptional way to con customers

Every human being needs to get into wedlock once he attains the nuptial age. Some marry at an early age while others get into alliance a bit later depending upon their age and host of other issues. It is customary for some to advertise an alliance in the matrimony section of newspapers and magazines whereas others use the services of matrimonial websites.

Matrimonial sites have mushroomed like never before. A countless number of matrimony service providers provide tailor-made services to their clients. There are matrimony services religion-wise, caste wise, and community wise to be precise.

Well-known matrimonial sites like Bharat Matrimony and Shaadi.com have been in existence since the advent of the internet in India. These matrimonial sites have a plethora of profiles in their database for both the boy and the girl along with photos of both.

A person needs to register his credentials before actually accessing the profiles thoroughly. Some sites require users to pay a certain amount to access the premium account of the profiles, which also shows the addresses and the phone numbers of the boy and the girl.

The majority of these sites display old profiles repeatedly and continuously. Whenever a person logs in to access the profiles, he or she gets the same old profile, which is several days or months older.

Matrimonial sites have developed a mechanism to fleece the customers by displaying old and expired profiles rather than new and fresher ones, which are neither accessible nor displayed by them to dupe the customers who are first-time visitors.

Such duplicity is visible when we visit one of the sites for a thorough check. I had a bad experience when I logged into one of the sites to access the profiles of girls who have advertised themselves for a suitable groom.

Some sites display fake and bogus profiles as if they are real. It would be advisable to stay away from such sites or report it to the customer forum where such are cases are handled.

Fleecing and duping customers have become a norm for these matrimonial sites and they make handsome money by displaying repeated profiles for a longer period. Customers are carried away and are easily duped with the quantum of profiles on display.

Such matrimonial sites have mushroomed all over India with eye-catching websites for their promotion. People get smitten by such websites and they happen to access wrong profiles that are not relevant to them.

To curb this menace, there should be an association to monitor such websites and display real and fresher profiles all the time. There should be a separate section for older and newer profiles. Profiles that have been selected by customers to finalize an alliance should be removed from the database.

No profile should be repeated more than twice and no person should be encouraged to contact the profiles without prior permission. Every profile should be displayed with the latest photographs of either the boy or girl and payment should be accepted from customers only when a profile has been selected for an alliance.

It is mandatory to make sure that all procedures are duly followed and terms and conditions are accepted without hesitation. It should be noted that a suitable profile after all would either make or break an alliance with utmost surety.
