I was a young boy in the early twenties and like several hundred students across this country who had an aspiration to go abroad and get an overseas degree from a reputed college or university, I had a similar ambition to excel abroad. After browsing through several colleges and universities in various countries, i finally chose the UK for my higher studies and that too in Scotland. I finally took admission in Robert Gordon University for the one year MSc in Information systems course starting in September 2000.
I had absolutely no idea about the course structure and the job prospects after completion of the course. However, contrary to my belief the course was a bit technical in nature and I had to struggle initially to understand the technical jargon. However, my fate had other plans and I managed to complete the course in the very first attempt.
Thereafter I had the tedious task of making a UK centric CV and applying for jobs at various companies. I was fortunate enough to attend several job fairs and even attended several rounds of interviews for the jobs matching my skills but after several hectic days of job hunting, Ii finally managed to get a job in a reputed hotel in Aberdeen as Accounts personal. Eventually my ambition to get a job abroad had come true and i am currently employed in the hospitality sector in a senior position.
