SAP – The market leader in ERP software
Every one of us would have come across the word SAP that literally means Systems Applications and Products in Data Processing. The journey that began in Germany has come a long way. Today after more than three decades it made its first appearance, it has been embraced all over the world. It is the market leader in providing collaborative business solutions for all types of industries and every major market.
It has positioned itself as the world’s number one business Software company and the world’s third-largest independent software provider overall. It has more than 39000 employees in 50 countries and it enjoys tremendous popularity all over the world.
More and more companies of different sizes have or are in the process of adopting SAP as the solution for their business problems. Companies that implement SAP do so to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and gain the extra adrenaline power to adapt to changing business needs.
SAP has started catching up in Gujarat in general and Ahmedabad in particular. Numbers of companies have implemented SAP to solve their Never-ending business problems and more are following suit. With demand increasing like never before, an increasing number of companies are becoming aware of this sophisticated business software, which can give its rivals a run for their money.
Though private institutes offering SAP courses for various modules (viz: FI, CO, BW, MM, PP, SD, ABAP, Basis) have sprung up in Ahmedabad, but none except two, offer these courses using licensed software, one of them is Genovate Solutions (India) Pvt Ltd which is a franchisee of SAP AG Germany (the largest SAP Authorized Training Partner in Asia Pacific) and other one is MLC college of Technology, Business and Healthcare, an educational division of MLC solutions Inc, a proven career management and development company based in Canada.
Since it is a prerequisite to use Licensed Software for training and teaching purposes, it becomes imperative for every institute running SAP courses to use and continuously upgrade the version on a timely basis since a couple of versions have been launched and the current version in vogue is V 6.0. MLC College Apart From Genovate uses Licensed Software to impart training in various modules.
A company that is already an established player in Canada and the US runs the College. The college, ideally located on SG Highway, is the first branch in India and Manish Chauhan who is the director (admissions) of the Ahmedabad branch heads it. Manish, a resident of UP and an Australian citizen, recently returned from Australia to head its India branch.
In Ahmedabad. With its vision on imparting quality education to aspiring students, the institute is in the process of making a mark for itself in the city and it has managed to get enrolled number of students on its rolls within two months of its inception.
The future of SAP education in Ahmedabad in particular and Gujarat as a whole looks bright with the presence of two very prominent institutes (Genovate and MLC College). However, unlike Genovate, where fees are exorbitant, one can find MLC College comparatively cheaper and equally better with quality tutors from a wide range of backgrounds visiting its premises to teach and share their experience gained at the workplaces working as consultants.
Since I am the first student of the institute to be enrolled for the SAP FICO course, (Financial and Controlling) I am literally impressed by the faculty and their teaching methods. The institute plans to expand its premises and facilities in the near future with more labs and teaching aids being installed for the benefit of the students and the tutors.
With a promising career as an SAP professional, a person can feel assured of being placed in some Organization that is in the process of implementing SAP to further augment his or her skills and gain practical exposure.
To end on a positive note, I would personally recommend those, who are aspiring to get into SAP, to take advantage of emerging opportunities in this field that have taken the world by storm.
